Babe-raham Lincoln

1. Who did you choose to do a portrait of? Why did you choose that person?
Taylor and I chose to do Abe Lincoln because he has a very interesting physical appearance and because he is on the penny.

2. When brainstorming about this project how did you decide what would be the best materials to use to create it? Explain how your material choice impacted the look of your piece. Why was this so important. Explain.

We used pennies because Abe Lincoln is on them and it would look really cool. It took a long time to make the project since we had to spraypaint, sort face-up and glue all of the pennies on the board. It was a challenge because the material was something we'd never used before.

3. Describe the risks you took or that were involved in creating the project. What were the challenges you faced?
We risked not having enough pennies or the pennies falling off. There wern't any huge challenges we faced, just the sorting and gluing of pennies.

4. How did your choices impact the look and feel of the piece? Did your choice of materials have any connection with the person you chose to represent?
Making Abe Lincoln out of pennies was ironic and it turned out looking really cool. Of course Abe Lincoln is on pennies, which is why we chose to make him out of pennies.

Sticky Situation

1. Explain how you developed your ideas for "Sticky Situation"
When I thought of a sticky situation I immediately thought of gum, which is really cliche but whatever. And then I just thought of something whimsical like it "raining" gum actually I dont really develop things they just pop in my head so yeah im bad at explaining things
2. Were you able to think outside the box when you were thinking about ideas?
I think but I'm really bad at being creative so I hope it was out of the box? I think It was at least... uh its unusual
3. You were to incorporate repetition, rhytnm or pattern. How did you accomplish this?
Bubbles everywhere !!!!!
4. Describe your choice of media (acrylic, watercolor) and your challenges and successes while using it.
I used acrylic because I think paint is really annoying and acrylic is the easiest one to use
5. How important were the mini lessons to the success of your final product?
It helped me get more used to paint since the last time I painted anything was like freshman year Art 1

Up Close and Personal

ink
final!  (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

1. Upclose and Personal was our theme. How did you develop your ideas for this project and why did you choose your subject? At first I couldn't really think of something I really wanted to do, so I thought of doing something like a close-up of a face or a house (which is personal) but I thought that was boring and I like drawing people so I drew a person.
2. How did you demonstrate Emphasis in your work? Well the guts and stuff clearly are emphasized because your eye goes straight to the thing that should not be there and you are like "wow that shouldn't be there" but it is!!
3. What medium did you decide to use and why did you choose this medium over the others? Discuss how it enhances your piece. I used copic markers because I just really felt like using them to be honest. They kind of look like watercolors but are easier to use and create brighter colors.
We encourage risk taking in art. Risk taking can be as simple as trying a new technique or learning about a new medium to as complex as trying something totally new.
4.. Did you take any risks with this project? Explain. I've never tried to draw internal anatomy before so that was definitely something new/risky.

5. Of the 5 characteristics of great art (technique, concept, emotion, new, medium) which did you include in your art? Hopefully I included all but I think the most prominent would be the concept because it's really unusual, which I like.
